Jharkhand is one of the more progressive states where the government has been proactive in understanding the role and value of working with Civil Society Organisations (CSOs). It has always looked at opportunities to facilitate constructive engagement between various stakeholders (CSO’s, Private Sector and Government) to enable them to work together towards a shared vision of increasing the impact of development initiatives in the state.
PACS has been working closely with the Government of Jharkhand since 2009 to enhance the impact of some flagship government programmes by increasing outreach, increasing effectiveness of services, developing solutions to community needs, and helping realise the rights of the socially excluded groups. Some examples of the Government of Jharkhand and PACS partnership include- strengthening implementation of MGNREGA; improving access to ICDS services, Janani Suraksha Yojana, and Rashtriya Swasthya Bima Yojana; implementing a toll-free labour helpline; improving implementation and awareness of Forest Rights Act (FRA), and improving access of marginalized children to quality education. Additionally, PACS has helped reinforce government efforts in enhancing livelihood and income generation programmes such as- livelihood programmes on lac, community based fisheries, and skills inclusion programme.
To strengthen the implementation and access of development programmes further, PACS is organizing a CSR Conclave- a first of its kind event in Jharkhand, which brings all key partners in development on the same platform.. The objective of the CSR Conclave is to build partnerships among the three key sectors of development- the government, the industry and the CSOs. The conclave aims to leverage the combined expertise, assets, and resources of the three sectors to deliver cost-effective, innovative, sustainable development solutions which will reach to the most marginalised sections of the society.
The CSR conclave will provide a forum to deliberate on how the three sectors can work to- improve health and education outcomes, and achieve economic equality through skill building and entrepreneurship. It will bring together companies, NGOs, government agencies, social enterprises, bilateral agencies and academic institutions to share and learn. to initiate new partnerships; to find new resources; and to understand how the three sectors together can play a vital role in making development inclusive and sustainable , and increase the impact of development projects.
The Conclave will be inaugurated by Sri. Sunil Barnwal, IAS, Secretary to Honorable Chief Minister, Cum Secretary of Department of Industries & IT, Govt. of Jharkhand.
