PACS-PHIA Foundation has partnered with the Department in managing the Toll Free Labour Helpline that was launched last year on May 01, 2016. Today, the help line completed its first eventful year in its journey and the state administration acknowledges this as an extended arm of the department. In this period of one year, over 3,100 workers from across the state have sought support and the helpline has not only helped laborers gain knowledge about welfare schemes and provisions of law relating to them but also a number of child laborers, trafficking victims, inter-state migrants among others have been benefitted with its establishment.

Honorable Chief Minister appreciated the efforts of the Labour department in the felicitating and recognizing the contribution of the laborers. He appealed all to recognize the contribution of the workers and develop a positive attitude towards the laborers who have a significant contribution in the economy of not only the state but the entire nation. He highlighted the need to focus on the unorganized workers that form more than 90% of the labour force in Jharkhand. The key message from the Chief Minister to reach out to the unorganized and construction workers in the state is viewed to be a very positive message for Phia that is planning for upsace of its campaign to other geographies.
